Overview

Atlanta-based “youth oriented” non-profit created a promotion between a specialty food retailer with 2,700 stores nationally, a cell phone manufacturer, and a wireless phone provider. For the 10th purchase made in the store, the consumer received a free phone from the manufacturer. Then the wireless provider activated the phone and for each activation gave $100 back to the non-profit.

Results

The program generated $33 million for the non-profit in the 12 months of this promotion. The corporate partners all achieved sales increases and new customer acquisition at substantially lower customer acquisition costs.
